  1. Oct. 8th, 1995 - "The Telecommunications Decency Act and Censoring"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 12]

"Right now, the House of Representatives and Congress are preparing to finalize a vote on whether the Exon Telecommunications Decency Act should be passed or not. This Act would enforce censorship on the Internet, or at least American users, in an effort to clean up the content so children can use the Internet."

  2. Oct. 15th, 1995 - "Life in a Snobby City"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 13]

"This pickiness and superficial attitude carried by a good portion of citizens in Plano is the reason Plano is a virtually "dead" community. Philip Weiss, in an article in "Esquire" said, "You don't see any familiar images of American suburbia: you don't see kids playing on their own or couples entertaining on their porches."

  3. Oct. 22nd, 1995 - "Suing Because of Stupidity"
    [RATING: 10 | VOTES: 13]

"About a year ago, a woman sued because she fells off the second floor of the Ballpark in Arlington (where the Texas Rangers play). Hundreds of other cases have won the "victim" money."

  4. Oct. 29th, 1995 - "Abortion: Not a Simple Issue at All"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 12]

"...on Thursday, a Christian girl wore an anti-abortion t-shirt to *school*, which I don't really have a problem with. It's just that no school officials made her take it off or anything. Funny how anti-abortion t-shirts are allowed and books like Huck Finn aren't."

  5. Nov. 5th, 1995 - "Police at School: Earning Their Pay?"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 14]

"Now, for those of us who own cars, we must purchase a parking permit which costs *$25*. The cost goes down as the year progresses, of course, but these permits are supposedly used to increase school security. The money is also used to pay the police to keep officers on the campus. This seems like a great idea, and we have a liaison officer and a couple officers in the parking lots. Safe, huh?"

  6. Nov. 12th, 1995 - "Book Censorship in Schools"
    [RATING: 5 | VOTES: 15]

"A few years ago or so, there was a large debate about the book Huckleberry Finn, as it used the word "nigger" and was in the school curriculum."

  7. Nov. 19th, 1995 - "How Many People Live in Your House?"
    [RATING: 5 | VOTES: 13]

"I receive mail as just a few names, Victor, Benjamin and Ben. Victor is my real first name (although for a better-sounding name, my "first name" is Benjamin). Colleges often send things to both Victor AND Ben Turner. They must think there are two geniuses in the same household! *snicker* It's worse for my dad; he's been called Fred, Frederick, Fredrick, Fredric, and even Drederick! And hehe, imagine what it's like for my mom -- Mei Lin, Mie Lin, Maylin, Mee Lin, and more that I can't even think of. My brother even gets mail here, and he moved out about ten years ago!"

  8. Nov. 26th, 1995 - "The Word of God?"
    [RATING: 6 | VOTES: 12]

From a dumb article: "Movies containing no violence or immorality, which outwardly appear innocent and neutral, can also teach. One such movie is Disney Corporation's fanciful production, Pocahontas. Besides being historically inaccurate and by inference a belittling of Christianity, the film is a promotion of pantheism. Pantheism substitutes a "life force" for the Biblical God-Creator. Literally it means god is in everything."

  9. Dec. 3rd, 1995 - "Religion Completely Taken Out of Schools?"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 15]

"In our school calendar, the only religious holidays observed with time off from school are Catholic holidays, such as Christmas and Good Friday. Hanukkah and other special days require passes from parents in order to take the day off."

  10. Dec. 10th, 1995 - "For and Against Mudding..."
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 15]

"Most mudders are college students who have a lot of idle time to waste. MUDs have reputations of causing rapid addiction, and many college students' grades have deteriorated after they discover mudding. MUDs are also considered to be games and therefore unproductive, so many colleges have adopted the policy of not allowing mudding on campus."

  11. Dec. 17th, 1995 - "My Gift to You"
    [RATING: 3 | VOTES: 14]

    Christmas experiences and fun stuff.

  12. Dec. 24th, 1995 - "My Christmas Wishlist"
    [RATING: 0 | VOTES: 11]

This is a list of the stuff I wanted to show up on the Internet 10 years ago. It's kind of cool to see how those niches have been filled. =)
