8/18/97 - Exponible Rationale.

     I'm so fucking glad http://www.iemmc.org/
     works now.  The spam e-mail I was getting
     had progressed to such a point that maybe
     six out of the ten e-mails I got in the
     morning were telling me about how I could
     help administer the German lottery, or how
     I could improve my sex life through some
     magic herb.  I felt angered at cutlery
     shops for not selling spoons pre-rusted,
     so satisfied customers could use them to
     scoop out the deepest flesh from these
     marketers' putrified bodies.

     Don't ever, EVER use your real e-mail
     account on Usenet unless you want to get
     on hundreds of mailing lists.  I made that
     mistake.  And since everything sent to
     benturner.com goes to me, I had three or
     four times the spam others had.

     But now that that remove list's up at the
     afore-mentioned site, my mailbox is back
     to how it was before -- for the most part,
     empty, except for e-mails sent from those
     very few people who care about me.

     Hrmm...you can always tell when I've just
     finished a lot of projects.  It's when I
     introduce shit like this to the 'Net.  What
     is my frigging problem?  I lust to get all
     my jobs done, to be settled with it all,
     to bask in the enjoyment of completion.
     But as soon as I do one thing, I initiate
     ten other things.  It never ends.

     It keeps me going.  Tells me that I have
     something to offer, unlike the schmucks out
     there who never update their sites or
     respond to their e-mail.  It keeps me
     learning, lusting, loving to work hard.

     Going to finish those Stick in the Mud zMUD
     scripts soon, for all the players who couldn't
     care less about me.  Going to reach the
     next plateau in my Java self-training.  Going
     to complete all the little personal projects
     ("Project" sure sounds professional, don't it?
     If only you knew.)

     All done.  Free time to loathe peop...fuck,
     it's August 17th?  College starts up again
     soon.  Well, I suppose that isn't so bad.
